Farm to Fridge
(sorry but you need to know this)
Great video about Dairy an what is does to your body.
Udderly Amazing 1-8
In order to combat mastitis and avoid financial loss, ranchers and feedlot operators inject their cows with massive doses of antibiotics. There are about 80 such antibiotics approved for use in agriculture. Only 7 are authorized for use in lactating cows, but the USDA tests for only 4 of them.
When the milk from grocery store shelves in the northeastern states was analyzed, it was found that 63% had detectable residues of antibiotics.
A 1988 study found that 58% of the drugs used on dairy farms were not approved for such use.
VIRAL DISEASES- there are a broad variety of virus infections. They include equine infections anemia, Newcastle disease, hog cholera, fowl pox, rabies, canine distemper, encephalitits, along with many others. Several viral agents cause tumors in poultry, know as leukosis complex.
Influenza viruses cause serious problems in swine, horses, and birds.
Some viruses spread from mother to offspring through the placenta or through the egg. Others are very resistant and can survive in dust. Yet others require intimate contact to be contagious. Still Others are spread by the bite of arthropods (spiders).
The Life is in the blood. The blood of the sick animal is carried into the meat, then transferred into the person who consumes that meat!
If the meat you are eating has cancer/sickness/antibiotics in it then you will put that animals cancer/sickness/antibiotics into your body! You are what you eat...
Drink LOTS of Water
STOP Drinking Sodas
Avoid Artificial sweeteners
Do you exercise? If not, it is truly important for both your physical health and your mental health. Yes, even your brain benefits from regular exercise. This is only one of many reasons why exercise is so important.
Daily exercise is one of the largest contributors to a trim body. Exercise helps tone muscle and reduces unwanted body fat. By exercising, you burn off the foods you eat.
Heart disease is the number one killer in today's world. Risk factors for heart disease include family history, obesity, smoking, excessive alcohol, and drugs. Exercising can help keep the heart pumping normally and prevent obesity.
High cholesterol is another link to heart disease. Exercising can keep your triglyceride levels down. It also helps lower HDL levels. For this reason, this is additional proof that exercising helps keep you healthy.
Cancer is another deadly ailment. Some cancers are linked to being overweight. Breast cancer, prostate cancer, and uterine cancer have all been proven to be more common in overweight people. By exercising to keep the weight down, you can possibly prevent yourself from developing cancer.
You hear a slew of information about the increase in Type II Diabetes. The majority of cases of Type II Diabetes are linked to obesity. By exercising, you can keep your weight down and prevent this disease.
High blood pressure is linked to both heart disease and strokes. Studies show that daily exercise for at least ten to twenty minutes can cause a sharp decrease in your blood pressure readings.
Exercise helps ensure that the brain is producing ample levels of serotonin.By functioning with proper levels of serotonin, your body is able to fight off disease or feelings of danger properly. The same is true of the other endorphins. They can help keep you from slipping into depression or feeling blue. It takes no more than 15 minutes for the endorphin levels to increase.
Avoid Refined Sugars
There are several steps in the processing of sugar (either from sugar beets or from cane sugar). The final result is pure white sugar crystals which, because they are totally devoid of vitamins and minerals, are dangerous to eat ( because they leach minerals out of your body). But earlier production stages include molasses which has some vitamins and minerals, and Blackstrap molasses, which is even richer. Blackstrap molasses is an excellent source of choline, inositol, and calcium. It is an outstanding supplement. Add a spoonful to your meal, and you will be healthier for having done so.
STOP SMOKING AND DRINKING:
Do not use nicotine products. Tobacco is responsible for an astonishing number of deaths in our world today. Avoid side smoke (second hand smoke); do not be in room where people are smoking. Chewing snuff causes cancer of the mouth and throat.
Tobacco raises blood sugar for 2-3 minutes; this is part of its addictive power. So if nessacary carry of peice of honeydrop candy, and if the going gets ruff..chew on em!
Extensive research supports the popular observation that "smokers drink and drinkers smoke." Moreover, the heaviest alcohol consumers are also the heaviest consumers of tobacco.
Quitting smoking reduces the health risks caused by smoking.
Cigarette smoking causes many types of cancer, including cancers of the lung, esophagus, larynx (voice box), mouth, throat, kidney, bladder, pancreas, stomach, and cervix, as well as acute myeloid leukemia
Smoking harms nearly every organ of the body and diminishes a person’s overall health.
Do not drink spirituous liquors: Beer, wine, whiskey, vodka.
Even modest amounts of alcohol consumption can cause blood pressure to increase, especially in older adults. It can lead to a multitude of medical problems including sprains and strains, hearing and vision problems, kidney and bladder problems, cancers, head injuries, pneumonia/tuberculosis, dental problems, liver problems and pancreatitis.
Stop eating meats
Did you know that Cholesterol is ONLY found in animal products?
Civilized people have more cancer. Why?
Here is a list of the top 20 causes of cancer.
- Chemical additives to food.
- refined and fragmented foods
- A heavy protein diet
- excessive use of dairy
- commercial oils & fats (especially when heated & reheated)
- Hormones & conceptive pills & medicine
- Hydrogenated oils
- refined sugars
- nitrates and nitrites
- artificial sweeteners
- biopsies and other forms of surgery's
- detergents & soaps
- chlorinated fluoridated water & contaminated water
Avoid meat in all forms. It is dead matter, low in minerals, and produces uric acid in excess which is a waste product. The incidence of cancer is in direct proportion to the amount of animal proteins, particularly meat, in the diet. However it is true that devitalized, processed, and sugared food can also cause cancer—even in vegetarians. But far more often, when cancer strikes, those eating the junk foods are also eating meat. Nations and groups which consume less meat have less cancer.
Dr. Willard J. Visek, research scientist at Cornell University, stated that the high protein diet of Americans is linked to the high incidence of cancer in the U.S. Another cancer physician, who also worked with hundreds of cancer patients, said that anyone who does not eat meat, eats only good food, and does all he can to protect his liver, may never get cancer. Cancer is less a disease than a condition existing in the whole body.Cancer would be almost unheard of if no devitalized food or meats were eaten.
Cancer cannot exist where there is a pure bloodstream."
WHY EATING MEAT CAUSES CANCER
Flesh foods do not contain any fiber. Hence, such foods cause cancer because it stays to long in the colon, and rots before elimination, and the putrefying residue is absorbed into the blood stream from the colon, thereby poisoning the whole system. One of the waste products of meat digestion is AMMONIA, which is harmful to man.
In a High beef diet the level of fecal BILE ACIDS is raised, and such a diet also increases the number of anaerobic bacteria called CLOSTRIDA, which convert bile acids into carcinogens...which cause's cancer.
Meat & Cholesterol in the colon are the major causes of colon cancer. Beef, pork, chicken, shellfish, crabs, river or ocean fish, shrimp,; it matters not. They all produced colon cancer. (Journal of the National Cancer Institute, Dec 1993 pg 1771) Scientists in Italy showed that by interviewing 250 women with breast cancer and 499 similar women without breast cancer, that those with cancer reported consuming higher amounts of WHOLE MILK, Cheese, meat and eggs.
Many animal studies have been shown that a high fat diet promotes breast cancer tumors...(Save yourself from breast cancer pg 51-52)
In 1982, the National Academy of Sciences made this statement: "In summary the incidence of prostate cancer is correlated with other cancers associated with diet, e.g. breast cancer. There is good evidence that an increased risk of prostate cancer is associated with certain dietary factors, especially the intake of high fat diet and high protein foods, which usually occur together in the same diet, There is some evidence that foods rich in Vitamin A ... and vegetarian diets are associated with lower risks." - National Academy of Science
Some researchers estimate that 90% of all cancers are caused by ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS. One of these factors is DIET, which some believe cause 30-60% of all human cancers.
-The Divine Prescription and science of Health and Healing
Eating meat is bad for you.
Never eat meat or fish! They are heavily contaminated with bacteria, parasites, dangerous fat, and uric acid (Urine). As soon as they are slain the flesh begins rotting.
Every public health officer knows that meat and milk are the two most contaminated and diseased foods in the country. Eggs rank close behind them. It is best to avoid them also.
In February 1999, when one of the packers recalled 10,000 pounds of ground beef laced with small pieces of glass, the company would disclose only that the meat had been shipped to stores in Florida, Indiana, Michigan, and Ohio. Neither the processing plant nor the USDA would provide the names of those stores. "It's very frustrating," an Indiana health official told a reporter, explaining why beef containing broken glass could not easily be removed from supermarket shelves. "If they don't give the information to us, there's not much we can do". -International Meat Crisis
"The rise in grain prices has encouraged the feeding of less expensive materials to cattle, especially substances with a high protein content that accelerate growth. About 75 percent of cattle in the United States were routinely fed livestock wastes -- the rendered remains of dead cattle -- until August of 1997. They were also fed millions of dead cats and dead dogs every year, purchased from animal shelters. The FDA banned such practices after evidence from Great Britian suggested that they were responsible for a widespread outbreak of bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE), also known as "mad cow disease." Nevertheless, current FDA regulations allow dead pigs and dead horses to be rendered into cattle feed, along with dead poultry.
The regulations not only allow cattle to be fed dead poultry, they allow poultry to be fed dead cattle...
The waste products from poultry plants, including the sawdust and old newspapers used as litter, are also being fed to cattle. A study published a few years ago in Preventive Medicine notes that in Arkansas alone, about 3 million pounds of chicken manure were fed to cattle in 1994. According to Dr. Neal D. Bernard, who heads the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine, chicken manure may contain dangerous bacteria such as Salmonella and Campylobacter, parasites such as tapeworms and Giardia lamblia, antibiotic residues, arsenic, and heavy metals. The pathogens from infected cattle are spread not only in feedlots, but also at slaughterhouses and hamburger grinders. -Fast Food Nation
The list of diseases known to be associated with meat, which are commoner among meat eaters, looks like the index of a medical textbook.
Anemia, appendicitis, arthritis, breast cancer, cancer of the colon, cancer of the prostate, constipation, diabetes, gall stones, gout, high blood pressure, indigestion, obesity, piles, strokes and varicose veins are just some of the well known disorders which are more likely to affect meat eaters than vegetarians.
Avoiding meat is one of the best and simplest ways to cut down your fat consumption.
Add to those hazards the fact that if you eat meat you may be consuming hormones, drugs and other chemicals that have been fed to the animals before they were killed and you can see the extent of the danger.
When you eat meat you are, inevitably, eating those drugs.
In America, over half of all antibiotics are fed to animals and I don't think it is any coincidence that the percentage of staphylococci infections resistant to penicillin went up from 13% in 1960 to 91% in 1988.
The healthiness of a vegetarian diet is perhaps shown most dramatically by the fact that lifelong vegetarians visit hospitals 22% less often than meat eaters - and for shorter stays! Vegetarians tend to be fitter than meat eaters - as well as healthier - and many of the world's most successful athletes (particularly those who specialize in endurance events) follow a strictly vegetarian diet.
There are not only many different fruits and vegetables available these days but, if you miss the texture of meat, you can buy vegetarian sausages, hamburgers and pies. Stews and curries can be made with soya and you can buy tofu cheese too.
Excessive protein consumption prevents the absorption of calcium.
Animal meats do not make protein, they get there protein from there vegan diets. In order for our body's to absorb the protein from animal meats it will actually leach out calcium from our bones.
Human bodies are not designed to drink the milk from other animal species.
Dr. Benjamin Spock, America’s leading authority on childcare was one of the first to warn the world against the dangers of consuming cow’s milk.
Consider these cold facts.
- Diary products contain no fiber or complex carbohydrates
- Milk is saturated with fat and cholesterol.
- Milk is contaminated with cow’s blood, pus, pesticides, and hormones
- Dairy is linked with allergies, constipation, obesity, heart disease and cancer
- Cow’s milk can cause anemia in children
- Dairy can result in insulin-dependent diabetes in the later years of life
- Diary products actually cause osteoporosis. Chinese women who consume calcium from plant sources have lesser incidents of bone fractures in old age
- Milk has no iron, however it also blocks its absorption
- Milk has less protein than most vegetables (animal proteins are not safe for the body and harder to digest)
- Milk does not cure peptic ulcer disease. It only offers temporary relief of pain. In the long run milk causes acidity and further destroys the stomach lining
- Milk is carcinogenic. It contains a factor called as IGF-1. All cancer studies show that when IGF-1 rises in the body one gets cancer.
We need not be slavishly dependent on milk:
There are so many vegan alternatives to dairy products and they are available in all health food stores and supermarkets. There are milk substitutes like Soy, almond and rice milk that are equally tasty and nutritious. There are frozen desserts like Soy Delicious, Tofutti, Rice Dream and fruit sorbets.

Eat As grown, simple meals:
To keep healthy eat raw foods whenever you can (because vitamins are easily destroyed by cooking) and use as little water as possible when boiling vegetables in order to avoid losing water soluble vitamins B and C. Steam or stir fry vegetables if you can instead of boiling them.
Remember that keeping food hot - or reheating it - can destroy vitamins, try to eat fruit and vegetables in their skins (because vitamins are often stored just below the skin) and be imaginative when shopping! You can get the iron, calcium, zinc and other essential minerals that your body needs by eating dark green, leafy vegetables, nuts, pulses, sunflower seeds and dried fruits.
Eat a wholesome 5-10 grain cereal for breakfast instead of a sugary cereal filled with chemicals. You can find these online or at your local health food store. It is about $3.50 and will last a family of 3 one week. Compared to $3.50 for one box of cereal that will last a family of three 2 days.
Or just a bowl of natures most healing fruit; grapes, with a little toast and nuts. You will be supprised at how much you DON'T need to eat.
Make oat waffles from scratch and enjoy them with peanut butter and apple sauce. Enjoy a wide variety of fruit with whole grain toast and all natural jelly or veganaise on the toast.
There are a number of healthy options, and many vegan cookbooks out there to help you out!
Eat simple meals. Fresh fruits and vegetables are preferred. If you are unable to get those, buy frozen. Try to avoid canned goods. They come with BHT (click for more) lined cans, and are filled with extra sugar and salt.
Steam your vegetables to preserve most of the vitamins, and save you some cooking time.
Your biggest meal should be breakfast. Your smallest meal should be dinner. If possible try eating only two meals a day for better results. But, if you need a snack or dinner make it something light and healthy. Such as grapes or air popped popcorn.
Avoid empty calories such as sodas, and sugary snack foods.
Count Fat calories, stay around an intake of 10-15% daily. READ LABELS! They put all sorts of things in foods.
You have to be a label reader!!!
It's not you, it's in the food!
